The Semi-Automated Container Terminal Project at the west terminal is an initiative by the Port Authority of Thailand, designed to benefit all customer groups, including existing, new, large, and small customers, as well as various sectors utilizing the port’s services. This project incorporates advanced technologies to systematically manage container yards and transition handling equipment to electric power. Operations will utilize remote control and semi-automated systems from the berth area to the container yard, allowing efficient movement, storage, receipt, and delivery of containers. The improvements will also increase convenience and speed while reducing logistics costs.
The project aims to enhance Bangkok Port’s container handling capacity, guided by the Smart Port concept that prioritizes environmental friendliness. Additionally, this initiative aims to elevate Bangkok Port to become a leading world-class port in the future.
