(26th August 2022) Port Authority of Thailand (PAT) held a Signing Ceremony of
the Memorandum of Understand (MOU) between Port Authority of Thailand (Ranong Port) and Bau Thai Index Associate Co., Ltd. The MOU is signed by Mr. Kriengkrai Chaisiriwongsuk, Director General of Port Authority of Thailand and Mr. Li Rui, Executive Director of
Bau Thai Index Associate Co., Ltd. Signed as witnesses are Mr. Apiseta Pongsuwan, Deputy Director General in Asset Management and Business Development of Port Authority of Thailand, and Mr. Niwat Thapwong, Consultant of Bau Thai Index Associate Co., Ltd.
The ceremony is also attended by executives from PAT, CU Lines (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
and participants from PAT’s Business Development and Marketing Department.
MOU on improving container shipping from China to BIMSTEC, African, and European countries through Ranong Port
Under this MOU, both parties are committed to support and promote intermodal container shipping from People’s Republic of China (Kunming), Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Vientiane), and Thailand via Ranong Port to third countries (BIMSTEC, African, and European countries). The aim is to create a frictionless and solid economic relationship between
Mr. Kriengkrai Chaisiriwongsuk, Director General of Port Authority of Thailand stated that “PAT is determined to promote Ranong Port as Thailand’s Andaman Gateway. We will continue improve the port so that it can drive trading and logistics sectors in the Western Economic Corridor with shorter transit time and lower transportation cost.”
Mr. Li Rui, Executive Director of Bau Thai Index Associate Co., Ltd. added that “We are ready to provide support regarding to resources in order to enhance port efficiency, container handling and transportation as well as promoting development of both parties.”
PAT’s goal to increase trade value between Thailand and China via “LAND to SEA” project
PAT is already equipped with world-standard infrastructure and facilities which ensure client’s trust in the management of Ranong Port. Under the established collaboration between both organizations, the future of improved transportation and logistics network between both countries is clearer than ever.
