PAT Certified (BCMS) ISO 22301: 2019

Thailand’s Port Authority maintains the certificate of ISO 22301: 2019, boosting the trust in managing its 5 ports under international standard.

(Port Authority of Thailand) Mr. Saksayam Chidchob, the Minister of Transport, passes the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) certificate of ISO 22301: 2019 to Mr. Kriengkrai Chaisiriwongsuk, the Director General of Port Authority of Thailand. The certification covers 4 areas: the area of Bangkok Port and support sections, the area of Laem Chabang Port, the area of Chiang Saen Port (including Port of Chiang Khong), and the area of Ranong Port. These 5 ports in total are under the supervision of Port Authority of Thailand (PAT).

Port Authority of Thailand (PAT) aims for international standard and excellency in logistics. In order to grow sustainably, it focuses on quality service while prioritizes safety, benefits of all stakeholders, reputation, and image. The Risk Management and Controls Board of PAT continues to monitor port’s operations closely. The board is also raising awareness on the importance of preparations that will make sure the organization can maintain business continuity when incidents or potential disruptions occurred. PAT has started its business continuity management system (BCMS) since 2015 in order to ensure its operations. Every business unit in the organization has also come up with their business continuity management plans that comply with ISO 22301: 2019 and continue to follow standard guidelines and best practices.

The certificate guarantees the management of 5 ports complies with international standard.

This is the second time PAT receives this certificate. Together, PAT is given a suggestion on improving business continuity management system to comply with current ISO 22301: 2019. This certificate is valid for 3 years. During this time, United Registrar of Systems (Thailand) Co., Ltd. — as a certified external auditor — will conduct 2 surveillances on PAT’s BCMS once in 2022 and another in 2023. This will make sure PAT is ready to undergo a evaluation for the third time of certificate renewal in 2024.
