PAT promotes rail and waterway transport to reduce dependence on road transport, helping to cut greenhouse gas emissions by more than 800,000 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent. The initiative also increases the use of renewable energy across all stages of operation. PAT has developed an electronic carbon receipt (e-Carbon Receipt) system to calculate and transparently report carbon emissions.
