Laem Chabang Port is being upgraded under Phase 3 of the Laem Chabang Port Development Project, aligned with EEC strategies. This project will not only significantly increase container-handling capacity but also transform Laem Chabang Port into a Smart Port, integrating advanced technologies across all operational stages — including 5G, AI, automation, and IoT — to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and minimise environmental impacts.

🚢 Thailand’s First Marine-Based Smart City Begins Here

Upon completion, Laem Chabang Port will be the starting point of Thailand’s first Marine Smart City, where automated logistics technologies are introduced into real operations — such as Automated Stacking Cranes (ASC), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV), and automated OCR systems for container identification. These technologies will boost precision, safety, and operational speed.

Additionally, a fully integrated transport network — including roads, rail systems, and seamless cargo connections from the port — is being developed to support multimodal transport, driving a shift from road-based transport to more efficient rail and waterway systems.
