Bangkok Port is moving forward with the Semi-Automated Container Terminal Project at the west terminal by implementing advanced technology to systematically manage the container yard, including the movement, storage, receipt, and delivery of containers. The project also includes transitioning to electric-powered handling equipment, aligning with the Smart Port concept. This will help maximize the utilization of the container yard, expand Bangkok Port’s container handling capacity, and progress towards more environmentally friendly.
The Semi-Automated Container Terminal Project at the western terminal is designed to benefit all parties, including Port Authority personnel, existing and new customers, government agencies, and the communities surrounding the Bangkok Port area. This initiative aims to elevate Bangkok Port to become a leading world-class port in the future.
